Welcome to the "Official Web Page" of District 15 of the Machinists Union, AFL-CIO. District 15 is a
labor union representing thousands of workers for the purpose of "Collective Bargaining". Our Membership
includes hundreds of different occupations from Truck Mechanics to Black Car Drivers, we are headquartered
in Brooklyn, New York with regional locations in Boston MA, Buffalo NY, New Jersey and Philadelphia, PA.
District 15 incorporates a number of locals across the Eastern Territory including New
England, Boston, Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York. These dedicated locals have accumulated approximately 12,000 members
making them one of the largest in the I.A.M's Northeastern region. District 15 of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers is
led by Directing Business Representative Jim Conigliaro and his Assistant Directing Business Representative Mike Walsh.

District 15 Members Celebrate Labor Day On August 30, 2009, District 15 members and their families gathered at
Eisenhower Park in Long Island to celebrate Labor Day. Members and their families enjoyed free admission provided by District
15 that included food/drink and rides. Members also received free t-shirts and hats. Congratulations to New England Motor
Freight Member Mariano Gonzalez who won a $100.00 King Kullen Gift Card. Special thanks to Business Representatives Perry
Esposito and Dave Isabel for their efforts and planning the successful event. All members are welcome, keep in contact in
order to participate in 2010.

District 15 Mourns the Passing of Member District 15 would like to send their condolences to the family of Peter R. Traficante. Peter

Day Parade in NYC, the Long Island Labor Picnic in Eisenhower Park, seminars, Golf Outings and Harley Davidson Fundraisers

Top News Stories
District 15 began organizing the Maintenance Mechanics at D'Addario
during the Summer of 2006 and won an NLRB Election in November of 2006. However, after three years of negotiations and several
charges for violations of NLRA, a collective bargaining agreement was never reached. Recently, a Tentative Agreement was reached
and a Ratification Vote was scheduled for August 18th. Unfortunately, the Company, with guidance from Jackson Lewis, once
again interfered with the employee's free choice and their efforts to obtain a collective bargaining agreement. Above is a

District 15 Business Representative Retires On Saturday, August 22, 2009 District 15 celebrated the long and distinguished
career of Business Representative Paul Salemme. While working as a machinist at Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority
in Boston, Massachusetts, Paul became a member of Machinist Union Local Lodge 264 in 1969. In 1972, Paul was elected as shop
steward and from there went on to hold many union positions. He was elected to Local Lodge 264 Executive board, Recording
Secretary, Vice President, and then elected President in 1991. Soon after, in 1996, Paul was appointed District Organizer,
elected Business Representative and re-elected in 2000 when he became the Directing Business Representative for District 38.
Paul continued his career as a Business Representative for District 15 until his retirement in July 2009. We appreciate Paul’s
dedicated years of service to the District and the IAM&AW. He will be missed greatly and we wish him a long and happy
retirement.
Son of District 15 Member Wins IAM Scholarship
Congratulations to Nicholas Palazzolo, the son
of UPS Air Hub Journeyman Charles Palazzolo, who has won the International Association of Machinists' Roman A. Mayfield Scholarship
and has also won the United Parcel Service's Casey Scholarship. In addition, Nicholas was granted a scholarship to Swarthmore
College, which he will attend in the fall. District 15 wishes all the best for Nicholas and the whole Palazzolo family.

Streak of Organizing Wins for District 15 Following in the footsteps of last year, District 15 kicked off 2009 with a string of organizing wins that included
two First Student locations in Freeport and Hicksville, NY. The new members at First Student are auto, diesel mechanics and
fuelers. Employees at Vantage Management Services in New York City also recently voted to join the IAM. See the full

District 15 is Top Fundraiser in 2008 This
year District 15 raised $215,000 for the Guide Dogs of America Foundation awardingthem the top donor spot at the Annual
GDA/IAM Fund-raising Dinner. We would like to thank all who assisted at the District 15 annual golf outings in both New
York and Massachusetts, and all of those who supported the cause by purchasing raffle tickets. After 10 years, District
15 has raised $1,096,701 for the GDA and hopes to continue for many years to come. Special thanks to all of the Business Reps
and DBR James Conigliaro for their hard work and dedication in helping those who are less fortunate.
