For our next installment of the "Meet Your Union Brothers & Sisters" series we would like to introduce you to Brother Angelo Coppolino out of Local Lodge 315 in New Jersey. Congratulations go out to Brother Coppolino who retired in April 2011 after 30 plus of years of dedicated and committed service as a servicing member in the Machinists Union.
Angelo Coppolino

ANGELO CAPPOLINO

Brother Coppolino has always been a steadfast union man. In the 1980's

Angelo served as a Shop Steward out of Schering-Plow, Bloomfield. After that Angelo served as a Shop Steward in Kenilworth. In February of 1994 Brother Coppolino replaced Gus Morelle as the President of Local Lodge 315. Angelo is an excellent union man. Angelo always found a way to settle problems with management before issues had to go to grievance. You could not ask for a better man to represent you.

Local 315 Secretary Treasurer, Bill Bernauer spoke of Angelo saying

“I have known and worked with Angelo for some 25 years. When I first met Angelo he was working as an Electrician. As a Shop Steward & later as President of 315 Angelo was very good at what he did, he was the

consummate go-to guy. As the President of Local 315 he knew how to

run the show.” Brother Bernauer continues to say that “As the Secretary Treasure of Local 315 it was a pleasure for me to work with Angelo. Even though Angelo is now retired I am looking forward to our continued friendship. Angelo will be missed by all the members of Local Lodge 315.”

Local Lodge 315 Recording Secretary Roland Parker commented on

Angelo saying that “Angelo was a damn good Electrician. He even had

his Electrical Inspectors License. Angelo replaced me as a Shop Steward

at Schering-Plow. He ran a good shop with a great bunch of guys. Frosty (as Angelo was sometime referred to because of his snow white hair) will be missed by all of us at Local 315. Things will not be the same without him.”

We spoke with Angelo and he had to following to say to all of us:

“I am proud to be a member of the Machinists union for the past 33 years.

The last 17 years were spent as the President of Local Lodge 315. Over the years I also served as Vice President and Shop Steward. After 33 years I decided it was time to retire – I did the best I could. I want to thank

everyone for all that was done at the retirement celebration at the

District 15 office. Carry on the good work. Thank you!”

At this point we would like to thank Brother Coppolino for all his years

of devoted service to the members of the Machinists Union at Local Lodge 315. Angelo – your loyalty to the job is commendable and we wish you nothing but the finest in your retirement! Best wishes!
